This Honey Garlic Chicken features tender chicken in a sweet and savory honey garlic glaze, perfect for weeknight dinners.
Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, ketchup, minced garlic, rice vinegar, pepper, and red pepper flakes.
- Place the chicken breasts in a slow cooker and pour the prepared sauce over them.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is tender and easily shreds with a fork.
- Once cooked, use a fork to shred the chicken and stir it back into the sauce.
- Serve over rice or with steamed vegetables, garnishing with sliced green onions.
Notes
For a thicker sauce, simmer the sauce uncovered after shredding the chicken. Consider marinating the chicken beforehand for added flavor.
