Ingredients
- 2 pounds beef chuck roast
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 cups beef broth
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 4 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 4 slices of bread, toasted
- 1 cup brown gravy
Instructions
- Place the beef chuck roast in the slow cooker. Sprinkle the chopped onion and minced garlic over the top.
- Pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, then season generously with salt and pepper.
- Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for about 8 hours, or until the beef is fork-tender.
- In the last 30 minutes, boil the cubed potatoes in salted water until tender, then drain and mash. Adjust seasoning with butter, salt, and pepper.
- To serve, layer the toasted bread on plates, topped with a generous scoop of mashed potatoes. Shred the beef over the potatoes and ladle gravy on top.
Notes
