Description

A healthy, flavorful dish that combines lean ground turkey with fresh vegetables and a savory teriyaki sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 cup peas (fresh or frozen)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • Cooked rice, for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat sesame oil over medium heat.
  2. Add minced garlic and ginger, sauté until fragrant (about 30 seconds).
  3. Incorporate the ground turkey, breaking it apart with a spatula and cooking until browned.
  4. Stir in the broccoli florets and peas, cooking for about 5 minutes until they soften.
  5. In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, honey, and rice vinegar, then pour it over the turkey and veggies.
  6. Stir to coat everything well, cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  7. Serve warm over a bed of rice, if desired.

Notes

For enhanced flavor, marinate the ground turkey in the teriyaki sauce for 30 minutes before cooking. Feel free to add more vegetables like bell peppers or snap peas.
