Delicious homemade Thai Basil Beef Rolls made with savory ground beef and fragrant basil wrapped in rice paper.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 cup fresh Thai basil leaves
- Rice paper wrappers
- Lettuce leaves (for wrapping, optional)
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it up with a spatula.
- Add minced garlic, soy sauce, and oyster sauce to the beef, and let it cook for another 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
- Remove from heat and fold in the fresh Thai basil leaves until they wilt slightly.
- Prepare a shallow dish filled with warm water, and dip each rice paper wrapper into the water for about 10 seconds until soft.
- Lay the softened wrapper on a flat surface, add a spoonful of the beef mixture and a piece of lettuce, then roll tightly like a burrito.
- Repeat until all the wrappers and filling are used.
- Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
For best results, use fresh ingredients and avoid soaking rice paper for too long.
