Description
Crispy and soft churros rolled in cinnamon sugar, perfect for dessert or snacks.
Ingredients
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Oil (for frying)
- 1/2 cup sugar mixed with 1 teaspoon cinnamon (for coating)
Instructions
- Combine water, butter, and sugar in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring until the butter melts.
- Remove from heat and quickly stir in flour and salt until the dough forms a ball.
- Allow the dough to cool for a few minutes, then add the eggs one at a time, mixing well until smooth. Stir in vanilla extract.
- Heat oil in a deep skillet until it reaches about 350°F (175°C).
- Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a large star tip. Pipe long strips directly into the hot oil, cutting with scissors as needed.
- Fry the churros until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Roll the warm churros in the cinnamon-sugar mixture, making sure they’re evenly coated.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
