Description

Crispy and soft churros rolled in cinnamon sugar, perfect for dessert or snacks.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Oil (for frying)
  • 1/2 cup sugar mixed with 1 teaspoon cinnamon (for coating)

Instructions

  1. Combine water, butter, and sugar in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring until the butter melts.
  2. Remove from heat and quickly stir in flour and salt until the dough forms a ball.
  3. Allow the dough to cool for a few minutes, then add the eggs one at a time, mixing well until smooth. Stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Heat oil in a deep skillet until it reaches about 350°F (175°C).
  5. Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a large star tip. Pipe long strips directly into the hot oil, cutting with scissors as needed.
  6. Fry the churros until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  7. Roll the warm churros in the cinnamon-sugar mixture, making sure they’re evenly coated.
  8. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

Churros are best served warm right after frying. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 1 day.
