- 1/2 cup mixed dried fruit (e.g., raisins, currants)
- 1 egg for egg wash
Instructions
- Combine the warmed milk, sugar, and yeast in a large bowl. Let it sit until foamy, about 5 minutes.
- Add melted butter, egg, spices, and salt. Mix well to combine.
- Gradually stir in the flour, developing a soft dough. Knead for 8-10 minutes until smooth.
- Incorporate the dried fruit into the kneaded dough, ensuring an even distribution.
- Place dough in a buttered bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm area until doubled, about 1-1.5 hours.
- Punch down the dough and shape it into buns. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
