Description

A delightful chicken dish with a luxurious creamy sauce inspired by Turkish flavors. Perfect for special occasions and comforting weeknight meals.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  4. Season the chicken thighs with salt, paprika, and cumin. Add them to the pan and cook until browned on both sides, roughly 6-7 minutes per side.
  5. Pour in the chicken broth, bring to a simmer, then cover and cook for 15 minutes.
  6. In a separate bowl, mix the yogurt with a spoonful of the broth to temper it. Stir this mixture back into the pan.
  7. Cook for another 5 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.
  8. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

Serve over rice or mashed potatoes, and consider pairing with roasted vegetables or a green salad. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days.
