Description

Delightful and versatile waffle finger foods, perfect for dipping and sharing at any gathering.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 3/4 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 1/2 cup cooked and crumbled bacon or sausage (optional)
  • Chopped herbs (chives or parsley, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your waffle maker according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs, then stir in the milk and vegetable oil until fully mixed.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mix, stirring gently until just combined—don’t overmix!
  5. Fold in the shredded cheese and any optional ingredients like bacon or chopped herbs.
  6. Lightly grease the waffle maker if necessary, then pour the batter in and cook until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Once cooked, remove the waffles and cut them into finger-sized pieces for easy handling.
  8. Serve warm with an assortment of dipping sauces.

Notes

Letting the batter sit for a few minutes can improve texture. Keep an eye on your waffle maker’s cooking time.
