Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp butter
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, chopped onion, breadcrumbs, milk, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
- Form the mixture into evenly-sized patties.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook patties for about 5 minutes per side until browned and cooked through.
- Remove patties and use the same skillet to prepare the gravy.
- Melt butter, then whisk in flour, cooking briefly until golden.
- Gradually add beef broth, stirring until thickened; season as desired.
- Return patties to the skillet, allowing them to simmer in the gravy for a few minutes.
Notes
Serve over creamy mashed potatoes or with rice. You can add sautéed mushrooms or steamed vegetables on the side for extra flavor.
