Description

Juicy beef patties smothered in rich brown gravy, making it a perfect weeknight comfort meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp butter


Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, chopped onion, breadcrumbs, milk, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
  2. Form the mixture into evenly-sized patties.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook patties for about 5 minutes per side until browned and cooked through.
  4. Remove patties and use the same skillet to prepare the gravy.
  5. Melt butter, then whisk in flour, cooking briefly until golden.
  6. Gradually add beef broth, stirring until thickened; season as desired.
  7. Return patties to the skillet, allowing them to simmer in the gravy for a few minutes.

Notes

Serve over creamy mashed potatoes or with rice. You can add sautéed mushrooms or steamed vegetables on the side for extra flavor.
